Carolyn Kay Carr, 82, of Bushnell died at 7:08 a.m. Jan. 18, 2025, at Courtyard Estates of Bushnell.
She was born March 13, 1942, in Abingdon, a daughter of Ivan and Hazel Lenz Zuck. She married Bernard Roger Carr on April 22, 1962, in Bushnell. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2024.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Coates.
Surviving are two daughters, Deann (and Rick) Hall of Astoria and April (and Tony) Tatham of Avon; one brother, Ron (and Jane) Zuck; seven grandchildren, Jacob (and Sami) Roach, Alexis (and Josh Kumer) Roach, Holdyn Yerk, Dawson Hall, Bronson (and Carly) Tatham, Brayden and Gracie Tatham; and seven great-grandchildren, Rylan, Adalynn and Sophia Kumer, Brooks, Ellie and Tate Tatham and Westyn Roach.
She worked at Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Bushnell for 52 years, where she worked in many different capacities including teller, bookkeeper, and finally, as an assistant vice president. In addition, she was also very involved in many organizations in the community, including Mothers Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, the Fall Festival Pie and Cake Auction Committee, and she gave much of her time to activities at the United Methodist Church of Bushnell. She helped in many capacities in the community including delivery of Meals on Wheels, donating time to the Bushnell Pool concession stand, donating pies to all fundraisers that were presented, and anything else she was asked to do.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bushnell United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Burwell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home.
