James R. Weishaar, 92, of Browning died Nov. 17, 2025, at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.
He was born July 30, 1933, in Browning, a son of the late Frank and Isla Lane Weishaar. He married Ruby Lawson on June 11, 1955, in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2017.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Weishaar; and two sisters, Betty Winston and Wanda Weishaar.
Surviving are one son, Jimmy Dale Weishaar (and Barb) of Virginia, Ill.; two daughters, Brenda Sue Weishaar of Rushville and Pamela Dee McNeely (and Phillip Clem) of Rushville; one sister, Peggy Stambaugh of Beardstown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He worked as a Pump House Operator for Crane Creek Drainage District, Farmers Terminal Grain, Bluff Spring Elevator, Illi Co Oil Company and was a commercial fisherman all his life selling fish at the Farmers Market in Rushville.
He was a member of Rushville Masonic Lodge AF & AM No 9, Rushville Oddfellows and the Commercial Fishing Association.
Funeral services will be held Friday at noon at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Brother Matt Haberman officiating. Burial will follow at the Browning Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service on Friday.
