CAROLYN SUE (KRANS) WIGGINS

Carolyn Wiggins

Carolyn WigginsCarolyn S. Wiggins, 86, formerly of Rushville, died July 18, 2025, at McLean County Nursing Home in Normal.

She was born March 28, 1939, in Victoria, the daughter of Donald E. Krans and Majelle N. Grimm. She married the late Carl Leonard Wiggins on Aug. 24, 1958, in Galva.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Dianne Renee Wiggins; and one great-grandson, Shia Wiggins.

Surviving are one daughter, Sarah Wiggins (and Nathan Blevins) of Chicago; two sons, David (and Peggy) Wiggins of Morton and Brad (and Lolita) Wiggins of Carlock; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was an ambassador of love, deeply attuned to the beauty of the Lord found through scripture, music, nature and people — especially babies. Her journey with the piano and organ began at age 4 and led to performances in orchestral halls, jazz bands, and later, a role in the piano pedagogy department at Western Illinois University. Yet, her most profound musical legacy was felt in her home piano studio, where she taught with great patience and gentle kindness for decades.

She served faithfully in ministries such as Explorers Bible Study, Walk to Emmaus, Chrysalis and Cursillo Walks across the region. She viewed music ministry as her primary calling.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be made to Walk to Emmaus or Snacks for Kids.

Condolences may be sent to www.worthingtonfh.com.
