Phyllis Lee Wolff, 85, of Normal died at 3:17 Jan. 7, 2025, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
She was born Dec. 31, 1939, in Fulton County, a daughter of Paul Bruce and Ruby Margaret (née Davis) Scrogum. She married Richard Donovan Stremmel on Sept. 3, 1965, in Summum. He preceded her in death. She later married Walter Arthur Wolff on Aug. 12, 1995, in Naples, Fla. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin and James Scrogum; two daughters, Vicki Suzette (and James) Gardner and Vickie Leann (late Dennis) Foster; and one granddaughter, Amber Renee Foster.
Surviving are one sister, Carol (and Herbert) Shaw of Summum; five children, Debbie (and George) Coutré of Colchester, David (late Jennifer) Stremmel and Stephen (and Christian Ann) Stremmel, both of Canton, Timothy (and Angela) Stremmel of Anniston, Ala., and Rebecca (and Scott) McNeil of Normal; many grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She attended local schools going on to graduate from Astoria High School in 1958. After high school, she worked at a Five and Dime in Havana, as well as a dry cleaner in that same town traveling to work with her sister Carol. But moving on to bigger and better, they both took jobs at Montgomery Ward in Peoria.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Monroe Bailey officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.
