Richard “Rick” Lloyd Wilson, 74, of Park City, Kan., died on Nov. 18, 2024, at his home.

He was born April 15, 1950, in Macomb, a son of Clara Nell Wilson and Raymond Wilson. He married Cheryl S. Wilson on July 4, 1989, in Ocala, Fla. She survives.

Also surviving are six children, Brenton (and Kristin) Wilson, Corina (and Jason) Hathaway, Brannen (and Whitney) Mills, Ashlee (and Benjamin) Marquez, Casie (and Johnathan) Hart and Tiffany (and Sean) Reese; four siblings, Randall (Randy) Wilson, Jane Schrimpf, Judith Wilson Smith and Rodney (Rod) Wilson; and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Wilson; his mother, Clara Nell Wilson; and one niece, Kirsta Anderson.

He grew up on the Wilson family farm in Table Grove, with his parents and four siblings. He graduated from Macomb High School in the class of 1968. He attended college on a scholarship to Western Illinois University and got his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He then completed his master’s degree in business (MBA) at the University of Phoenix.

He and Cheryl raised their family of six kids in Casa Grande, Ariz., and then moved to Andover, Kan. He worked first as an engineer then later worked in supply chain management for Cessna/Textron aviation and Hawker/Beechcraft aviation. All for a combined of 40 plus years in the industry.

Even with all of his achievements, his most precious gift was a second chance of life from Kyle in September 2004. Kyle, who had chosen to be an organ donor at 16, was matched with Rick for a heart transplant. He thought often of Kyle and gained friendship with his sister, Brandi and her family.

He was involved in his local church. Most importantly to him, he was baptized in 2018.

Memorial services will be held in April of 2025 in Wichita, Kan. Time and date to be decided. Baker Funeral Home in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
