Sanford Watkins

Sanford L. Watkins, 78, of Macomb died at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 30, 2024, at Iowa City VA Medical Center in Iowa City.

He was born Dec. 3, 1945, in Indianapolis, Ind., a son of Leon and Margaret Powell Watkins. He married Linda E. Fowler on Aug. 3, 1972, in Indianapolis. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2015.

He also was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Watkins.

Surviving are four children, Kevin Watkins of Vermont, Nicholas (and Amanda) Watkins of Table Grove, and Heidi Watkins and Chris Watkins, both of Indianapolis; one sister, Alice (and Gary) Miller of Browning; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He served in the United States Marines. He worked at the Vermont Foundry.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services have been planned at this time. Memorials may be made to Grand Prairie of Macomb.
