Mrs. Verlie V. Wright, 96, formerly of Fairview, died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 1985, at the Nursing Center of Canton, where she had been a patient since Jan. 9.
She was born Oct. 1, 1888, in Fairview Township, the daughter of Frank and Cora (Prall) Grimm. She married George L. Wright, Oct. 4, 1911, in Fairview Township. He died in January 1951.
Survivors include two sons, Arland of Mesa, Ariz., and Merrill of Ipava; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She was also preceded in death by one son.
She was a member of the Fairview Reformed Church, Fairview Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Abingdon Chapter of DAR, Fairview Woman’s Club, Friendly Circle Club and the HEA.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Fairview Reformed Church with Rev. Joel Bensema officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
