Arthur L. Wise, 75, of Astoria, died at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 1980, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born June 21, 1906 in Beardstown, the son of Samuel and Alva Sterns Wise. He married Maydee Perkins Sept. 26, 1922, at Virginia, Ill. She survives.
He was a former construction worker and later worked at Clayton-Mark Company in Vermont before retiring in 1968. He was a member of the Bader Christian Church.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Cripe of Astoria and Mrs. Naomi “Sally” Jamison of Middletown, Iowa; two sons, Forrest of Chamois, Mo., and Leslie of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, John of Rushville and George of Astoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ray Artrip officiating. Burial was in Bader Cemetery.
