Marie Wilcoxen Dies At Age 83

Mrs. Marie O. Wilcoxen, 83, of 1104 S. Main, Lewistown, died at 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 1975, in Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born in Liverpool on March 4, 1891, a daughter of Frank and Ida Wilcoxen Verell. She married Chester Wilcoxen on July 27, 1910, in St. Louis. He died Dec. 15, 1968.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Dixon of Pekin; one grandson; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Mrs. Glenna Renau of Ipava and Mrs. Mary Davenport of Havana.

One daughter, six brothers, and four sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. David Hurley officiating. Burial was in the Salem-Wilcoxen Cemetery.

[Laura’s note: I believe her maiden name was spelled “Vrell” and her sister Glenna’s name was spelled Reneau, not Renau.]
