Fannie Venters Of Beardstown Dies

Mrs. Fannie Venters, 94, a Beardstown resident most of her life, died Monday evening, Nov. 25, 1985, at Washington Christian Village in Washington, Ill.

She was born Sept. 12, 1891 at Browning, the daughter of William C. and Mariah Wisdom Skiles. She married John E. Venters on March 27, 1910 at Browning. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1974.

Survivors include one son, James Willis Venters of Washington, Ill.; one granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by eight half-brothers and three half-sisters.

She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beardstown, a member of Martha Lodge No. 748 of the Trainmen’s Auxiliary and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Funeral services will be held at Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown at 2 p.m. this afternoon with Rev. James Beaty officiating. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown.
