Mrs. Imogene Umphryes, 63, of Vermont, died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1985, in her home.
She was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Fulton County, the daughter of George and Lona (Darling) Spring. She married Orval Umphryes Aug. 31, 1940, in Lewistown. He survives.
Other survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Howard (Patsy) Springs and Mrs. Steve (Nancy) Kinne, both of Vermont, Mrs. David (Lona) Krohe of Arenzville, Mrs. Gary (Rosie) Wece of Murphysboro, Mrs. Joel (Susan) Noel of Bushnell, Betsy Umphryes of Centralia, and Mrs. William (Donna) Black of Camden; four sons, George, Richard, John and Henry Umphryes, all of Vermont; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Violet Wallace of Astoria; and two brothers, Manford Spring of Sioux City, Iowa, and Wayne Spring of Modesto, Calif.
She was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Layton Malone officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery, Rushville.
