VeteranCarl Utsinger Dies Nov. 18

Carl O. Utsinger, 79, of Prairie City, died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1975, at the Veterans Hospital at Knoxville, Iowa.

He was born in Wiley, Fulton County, Feb. 24, 1896, a son of Wendell and Amanda Ault Utsinger. He married Antoinette Krock Feb. 18, 1930, in Macomb.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Keith of Albuquerque, N.M., Marion of Houston, Tex., and Eugene, at home; two grandchildren; one brother, Earl of Canton; and one sister, Mrs. Fred (Rilla) Howerter of Fairview.

Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Utsinger was a retired farmer. He was a member of Bushnell American Legion Post and the Farm Bureau.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the Prairie City United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Schurman officiating. Burial was in the Wiley Cemetery.

Attending visitation at the Corman Memorial Home in Avon Thursday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pollitt, Mr. and Mrs. George Fisk and Mrs. Dorcas Farwell. Mr. Utsinger was an uncle of the women.
