Chester Thompson Of Havana Dies

Chester O. Thompson, 79, of 314 S. Broadway, Havana, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 1975, in the Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born in Fulton County on Mar. 15, 1895, a son of Francis and Carrie Smith Thompson. He married Gladys Crable on Aug. 26, 1915, in Fulton County. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Nellie) Larson of Havana; five sons, Merritt of Havana, John of Jacksonville, Ben of Orange, Tex., Francis of Edelstein and David of Carrollton; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Russell of Havana, Hardy of Peoria, and Lem of California; and four sisters, Mrs. Grace Lynch of Havana, Mrs. Tessie Powell of Canton, Mrs. Mabel Neff of Silvis and Mrs. Minnie Timson of Marion, Iowa. He was preceded in death by one son.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Havana Church of Christ with Rev. Robert Florence officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
