Funeral services for William Tuttle, 85, retired river pilot and captain were held a week ago Sunday at the Niederer memorial home in Havana. Tuttle, who served many years at his trade as a mule driver, got his start as a mule driver when the animals pulled barges along the Illinois-Michigan canal. He became a pilot and later, captain.
