Jeanine Arlene Standley, 87, of Shelbyville died at 1:34 a.m. March 19, 2025, in her home.
She was born Jan. 15, 1938, in Mt. Carmel, a daughter of Don and Bluebell Bruns Maxfield. She married Clyde K. Standley on June 1, 1956. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2008.
She also was preceded in death by her twin sister, Janet Maxfield in childhood.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Abbey (and Frank) of Shelbyville and Andrea Standley of Springfield; one brother, Roy Maxfield of Rochester; two sisters, Evelyn Marie Wright of Decatur and Donna Berry (and Sam) of Astoria; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Beecher City High School in the Class of 1956. She turned her love for children into a career as she worked as an in-home babysitter for over 30 years. She was a member of Shelbyville First United Methodist Church.
A visitation will held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Debbie Hamilton officiating. After a luncheon, graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Beecher City Cemetery.
