He was born May 18, 1970, in Rushville, a son of Gerald Marly and Ruth Goldsmith Sipes.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, Marly and Donna Sipes of Rushville; two brothers, Greg (and Christy) Sipes and Chad Gilham, all of Rushville; one sister, Holly (and Kenny) Woodruff of Quincy; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and one sister, Wendy Sue Sipes.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University. He worked over 40 years for his father at GM Sipes Construction and later owned and operated this business until his retirement. He was a past board member of the Associated General Contractors of Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Neck Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of services on Saturday.
