Mary Stambaugh Dies At Age 83

Mary E. Stambaugh, 83, of Browning, died at 8:35 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 1990, at Culbertson Long Term Care in Rushville.

She was born May 15, 1907, in Browning Township, a daughter of Carl Abraham and Bertha Adeline (Kinnear) Trone. She married Kenneth J. Stambaugh on March 12, 1927, at Lewistown. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1972.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Evelyn) Trone and one son, Leon Stambaugh, both of Browning; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Clarice Dickerson and Lois Jones, both of Rushville, Madelyn Dunlap of Colchester, Marcella Taylor of Sugar Grove, and Jean Sieber of Mt. Carroll; and four brothers, Virgil Trone of Bonita Springs, Fla., Donald Trone of Lewistown, Glen Trone of Walnut and Howard Trone of Rushville.

She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

She was a member of the Ridgeville Community Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. James Shirley officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Memorial Home. The family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Culbertson Long Term Care at Rushville.
