Mr. Shaw was the son of Robert William “Artie” and Bonnie (Thompson) Shaw, former Astoria residents. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Mark (Rosemary) Jones of Davenport; grandfathers, Hiram Thompson and Willis Shaw, both of Astoria; several nieces and nephews; and his fiancee, Rhea Williams of Davenport.
Mr. Shaw was a sales clerk at various firms in the Quad-City area.
He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island; Fraternal Masonic Lodge 221, AF & AM, Davenport; Davenport Consistory; Sea Cadets; and Cornbelt Running Club. He had been a lifeguard at local lakes.
Mr. Shaw had earned a black belt in martial arts.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 10 at Runge Mortuary. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, Iowa.
