Stella G. Shields Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Stella G. Shields, 80, of Ipava, formerly of the Astoria area, died at 7:25 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 1985, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born Mar. 25, 1904, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of John and Lucinda Dutton Trone. She married Theodore R. Shields on Dec. 6, 1924, in Havana. He preceded her in death on Mar. 19, 1979.

She was a member of the Berean Christian Church of Ipava and the U Go, I Go Club of the Astoria area.

Survivors include one son, Marshall Shields of Astoria; two daughters, Mrs. Gale (Eunice) Welker of Astoria and Mrs. Robert (Norma) Shawgo of Ipava; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Delbert Trone of Pekin.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Dennis Daum officiating. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Berean Christian Church in her honor.
