Graveside services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Vermont Cemetery for Mrs. Myrtle J. Swearingen, 84, of Petaluma, Calif., a former resident of Adair. Rev. John Derry officiated. She died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1975.
Mrs. Swearingen was born Dec. 16, 1890, in Adair, the daughter of Milton Andrew and Jane Ballaline Chenoweth. She married George Swearingen. He preceded her in death in 1944.
Surviving are one son, Verle Swearingen of Petaluma, Calif.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Braden of Macomb.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
