Mrs. Cora V. Smith, 80, a lifetime resident of Astoria, died Friday at Graham Hospital in Canton. She had been in failing health for several months.
Mrs. Smith was born June 13, 1885, in Astoria, the daughter of Benjamin and Agnes Snyder Bair. She was married to Jonathan B. Smith on Sept. 7, 1902; he died Sept. 2, 1964.
She is survived by five sons, Emory and Edgar, both of Vermont, Homer of Albuquerque, N.M., Willis of Beardstown, and Hal of Dunfermline; a daughter, Mrs. Maude Sexton of Dunfermline; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Florence Hood of Bushnell; and a brother, Henry Bair of Bushnell.
Two sisters and a half-brother died previously.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Shawgo Memorial Home with the Rev. Forrest Wise officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
