He was born and raised in Western Central Illinois and moved to Western Pennsylvania where he spent most of his adult life after college.
Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Roosa and Emily Joy Roosa, both of Texas; three sisters, Carol (Roosa) Runyon of Illinois, Sharon (Roosa) Allen of Texas and Marlene Roosa of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruth Browning Roosa; one daughter, Rebecca Anne Linskey; and one nephew, Wayne Eugene Clayton.
Throughout his life he loved to travel, bicycling, hiking, mountain climbing, kayaking, play/listening and going to music concerts. Above all he loved the Lord and his family; this included engaging in great conversation with friends he cherished and church family wherever he went to fellowship with. Many in the community helped him in his hearing loss to accommodate him in church functions and he was extremely grateful for their caring.
Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the Highland Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock, Pa., on May 16, 2026, at 2 p.m. Cremation is being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Slippery Rock.
