He was born April 21, 1949, in Macomb, a son of Ralph and Joan Stehl Rhoads. He married Sue Ellen Draughan on June 24, 1973, in Bushnell. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2012. He later married Tammy Rhoads. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mendy (and Aron) Sowers of Colchester and Terri (and Joshua) Mason of Seaton; one stepdaughter, Tiffany (and Ty Cowin) Hall of Ipava; one stepson, Christopher Hall of Bushnell; four siblings, Carl Rhoads of Bushnell, Roger (and Debbie) Rhoads of Ladysmith, Wis., Gary (and Kerry) Rhoads of Macomb and Kathy Foster of Beardstown; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sue Rhoads; and two brothers, Marion and John.
He was a Journeyman Pipefitter for over 40 years for Local 353.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Bushnell Township Cemetery with Pastor Dave Scott officiating. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the McDonough County Humane Society or the Bushnell Rescue Squad.
