She was born Aug. 30, 1937, in Labelle, Mo., the daughter of Errsie and Gladys Weidner Baltzelle.
She was preceded in death by one brother, G W Baltzelle of Missouri. She married Joseph Higgins (deceased) and had one daughter, Bobbi Polite (deceased) from that union. Adding a special gift of a daughter, Casey (and Scott) Ketchum. She married Donald Raymond in 1994, along with adding from his previous marriage, one daughter, Diana (and Jay) Zimmerman; two sons, Gary Raymond and Chad (and Roberta) Raymond.
She graduated from Labella Missouri High School in 1955 and attended Quincy Beauty Academy in Quincy. She moved to Macomb in the late 1950s to work at the Band Box Beauty Salon. She worked at Haeger Potteries for many years and retired in 2000. Carolyn enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends.
Surviving are six grandchildren, Hannah Ketchum, Megan Raymond, Corbin Raymond, Parker Raymond, Justin Zimmerman and Matthew Raymond; one niece, Kim Bain of Missouri; and one nephew, Troy Baltzelle of Missouri.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb with Rev. Aaron Ferguson officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to McDonough County Humane Society or Fandon Christian Church. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
