Claude E. Rutledge, 93, of Adair, died at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 1985, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born on March 4, 1892, in Fulton County, a son of Robert and Rachel Yocum Rutledge. He married Gertrude Knight on Feb. 14, 1914, in Peoria.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude of Adair, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
He farmed most of his life and worked for 16 years at Haeger Pottery in Macomb, retiring in 1969. He resided in Adair for 32 years.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Rev. Dan Wakefield officiating. Burial was in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Fulton County.
