Irene Rochelle, 73, of Bushnell died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, June 10, 1985, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
She was born Oct. 31, 1911, in McDonough County, the daughter of Charles L. and Anna (Moore) Hillyer. She first married Mervin O. Scott in 1933 in Kewanee. He died May 17, 1954. She married Phillip J. Rochelle Feb. 15, 1956, in Chicago, and he died March 13, 1974.
Survivors include one son, Robert L. Scott Sr. of Oneida; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clair Hillyer of Placenta, Calif., and Verle Hillyer of Bushnell; three sisters, Josephine Conner and Mildred Kreps, of Bushnell and Wanda Hunter of Berwick; and a nephew, Buster Hillyer of Table Grove, who was reared in the Hillyer home.
Two sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.
She was a registered nurse having graduated from Kewanee Public Hospital School of Nursing. She practiced nursing in Kewanee, Chicago, Macomb and Avon. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Bushnell.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Floral Hill Cemetery, Neponset with Rev. Charles Wilder officiating.
