He was born July 3, 1972, a son of Berwyn “Rob” Jr. and Rebecca Owens Phipps. He married Sarah Karle on Aug. 20, 2011, in Fairview. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Will; his mother; one brother, Kyle (and Mandy) Phipps of Ipava; two sisters, Kerri (and Adam) LaSala of Canton, Mo., and Adryanne (and the late Tanner) Alvarado of Gilson; and several nieces and nephews.
His father preceded him in death.
He worked as a paramedic for the Fulton County EMA. He was the Chief for Copperas Creek Volunteer Fire Department and served on its dive team.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a burial to follow at the Norris Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his son in care of MidAmerica National Bank in Canton or the Copperas Creek Dive Team.
