Linda PhillipsLinda J. Phillips, 73, of Macomb, formerly of Astoria, died at 6:59 p.m. May 5, 2024, at The Elms in Macomb.

She was born April 22, 1951, in Peoria, and raised in Astoria, the daughter of Forrest and Naomi Welker Phillips.

Surviving are several cousins, Raymond Welker of Vero Beach, Fla., Franklin Welker, Judy (and Dean) Hopkins, Brenda Heath and Nancy Carithers, all of Astoria, Allen (and Crystal) Welker of Vermont, Norma Holmes of Knoxville and Nicki (and Richard) Hazzard of Lewistown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts and uncles; and two cousins, Johnny Welker and Anna Maye Fouts.

She was a graduate of Astoria High School and took classes at Spoon River College and Lincoln Land. After school, she went to work for several years at the State of Illinois Comptrollers Office in Springfield where she ran the posting machine.

She was a member of the DAR Office in Lewistown. She attended Astoria Christian Church for 18 years.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria American Legion, Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad or Astoria Christian Church.
