Edson E. Posey Found Dead

Edson Eugene Posey, 52, of Vermont was found dead in his home Friday, June 28, 1975, of a gunshot wound, Fulton County Coroner George Kauzlarich said.

Kauzlarich said a .22 caliber rifle was found in the room with Mr. Posey. The body was found by Deputy Sheriff Howard Brown and Vermont policeman J. R. Levingston.

Kauzlarich said the wound apparently was self-inflicted.

Mr. Posey was born in Arabi, Ga., Nov. 6, 1922, the son of John and Mary Laden Posey. He married Margaret McFadden in Albany, Ga., on Oct. 15, 1955. She survives.

He was employed at McGraw-Edison in Macomb, and he was a member of the Baptist Church in Arabi, Ga.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Benett and Miss Alice Posey, both of Vermont; two sons, Perry of Vermont, and Phillip of Macomb, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Bonnie Savilla of Havana, and Mrs. Connie Barr of Duncan Mills; two step-grandchildren; two grandchildren; three brothers, Earlie Posey and James Posey, both of Arabi, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Edington of Macare, Ga., Mrs. Merta Taylor of Albany, Ga., Mrs. Clifford Green of Hartley, Ga., and Mrs. Genezize Gregory of Colorado.

One brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held in Arabi, Ga., on Tuesday afternoon with burial in the Antioch Cemetery there.
