Mrs. Mary Nelson, 68, of San Jose, died at noon Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1985, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.
She was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Gladsden, Ala., the daughter of John and Marie (Harris) Gall. She married A. L. Nelson April 12, 1934, in Peoria. He survives.
Other survivors include her stepmother, Ann Gall of Bartonville; one son, Leonard (Bud) Nelson of Canton; one daughter, Mardell Ragsdale of Peoria; two sisters, Kathryn Justice of Peoria and Elsie Winston of Browning; one stepsister, Gertrude Myers of Bartonville; one brother, Jacob Gall of Rock Falls; one stepbrother, John Skaggs of New York; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
She was a member of San Jose Home Extension Unit, San Jose Women’s Club, and San Jose United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the San Jose United Methodist Church with Rev. Minton Dings officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery at San Jose.
