She was born April 6, 1936, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Harrison and Susie Curtis Sipes. She married Bobbie G. Miller on Nov. 27, 1954, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 2008.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa (and Mike) McAnally; two brothers, Loren and Russell Sipes; one sister, Lois Mitchell; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Miller.
Surviving children are Kevin (and Tonia) of Littleton, Brian (and Sylvan) of Colchester, Rhonda (and Wayne) Cameron of rural Macomb, (Mike McAnally) of Rushville and Craig (and Stacey) of Rushville; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
After raising her family she went to work as a dietary aide and worked her way up to the Food Service Director at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She was a member of Houston Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. Mathew McAnally officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Schuyler Penney Event Center in Rushville after the ceremony. Shirley’s children will be available until 6 p.m. to visit with family and friends.
