Kevin Dean Mayall, 71, of Washington, Mo., died Jan. 25, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome/Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
He was born June 18, 1953, in Macomb, the son of Willis and Margaret Burgard Mayall. He married Bernadette (Bernie) Edwards on March 11, 1989. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Shawn (and Vicki) Mayall of Washington, Mo.; two daughters, Krissa (and Dave) Nystrom of Pekin and Niki (and Matt) Pataky of Washington, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Lori Farris of Union, Mo., Krisi (and Douglas) Epps of Pickerington, Ohio, and Jami (and Jason) Theodosiou of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Brianna (and Gaylon) Malott and Susie (and Bob) Bucher, both of Illinois, and Jill (and Jack) Kukla of Missouri; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents.
He graduated from VIT High School in Table Grove in 1971 and later attended East Central College in Union, Mo.
At an early age, he started working for his grandfather’s Chevrolet dealership, Burgard Chevrolet. Later, he became a member of the Laborer’s Union and was an instructor at East Central College. He and his son, Shawn, founded S-K Contractors, Inc. in 1987 and also owned and operated US Environmental Solutions in Washington, Mo.
He held many memberships including Pekin Laborer’s Local #231 of Pekin, Masonic Lodge #213 of Ipava, American Legion Post #218, Elks Lodge #1559 both of Washington, Mo., and First Christian Church of Washington, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Washington, Mo., with a luncheon and fellowship to follow. Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
