Arlene MillerArlene Veronica Miller was born Feb. 17, 1952, in Indianapolis, Ind., a daughter of Patrick Vaughn Hayes and Betty Marie Weikert. She married Alvin Tracy Miller Jr. on Dec. 16, 1971, in Town of Pines, Ind. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother, one son-in-law and one great-grandchild.

Surviving are her children, William “Bill” (and Ronda) Miller of Beardstown, Michael Miller of Jacksonville, Michelle (and late husband Leon) Woods of Jacksonville, Anita (and John) Barnes of Golden, Denise (and Alan) Perry of Astoria, Tracy (and Chris) Goodsell of Jacksonville and Alvin “Chip” Miller III of Browning; and one sister, Jane Robbins of Brookfield, Mo.

She held many jobs through the years. She worked at the glove factory and Green Oil in Beardstown, Mr. Johns, and Steak n’ Shake in Jacksonville, but none of them compared to her “job” as a grandma to her 43 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time.

Memorials may be made to the Schuyler County Humane Society or the National Save The Sea Turtle Foundation.
