William G. Miller, 90, of Rushville died at 1:42 a.m. May 20, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He was born July 23, 1933, in Colchester, the son of Albert Bexon and Anna Mae Barrett Miller. He married Donna L. Riggins on Nov. 24, 1957, in Colchester. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Joyce Wynn (and Steve) of Rushville; four sons, Paul E. Miller of Macomb, William M. Miller (and Brenda) of Delavan, John A. Miller (and Chris) of Rushville and Kevin D. Miller (and Radell) of Santa Fe, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Maria and Andrew Miller; and one sister, Beulah Fugate Duncan.
He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War serving from Feb. 23, 1954 to Dec. 15, 1955. After his discharge he worked for St. Louis Die-Casting of Keokuk, Iowa. Later he worked for NTN Bower Roller Bearing in Macomb many years until retiring.
He was a member of Beardstown Life Family Church, National Rifle Association and Schuyler County Shooters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Brandon Thompson officiating.Burial will follow with Military Honors conducted by a US Army Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
