Lawrence A. Merrill, of rural Havana, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 1975, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.
He was born Aug. 14, 1895, in Bath, a son of George and Martha Boyd Merrill. He married Jessie Emmons who died Jan. 27, 1927. He then married Frances Horstman in Feb. 1935 in Kahoka, Mo. and she died on Oct. 7, 1973.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James (Elre) Haubensak and Mrs. Wayne (Martha) Heffren, both of Havana; one son, Joseph Merrill of Liverpool; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Merrill was a retired manager of the Anderson Lake recreation area and a member of Astoria Lodge 100 AF&AM, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine of Springfield and Hesperia Chapter of the OES.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana by Rev. Robert Florence. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
