Died, at her home in Astoria township, Sunday, August 25, 1889, Mrs. Elizabeth Hogsett McCormick, aged 71 years, 1 month and 13 days.
The deceased was born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania, on the 11th of July, 1818. She was united in marriage with Harvey McCormick in 1845. Her maiden name was Hogsett. In 1853 she came to Illinois with her husband, and located in Astoria township, Fulton county, and has lived here ever since. Seven children were born, six of whom survive the mother. Mrs. McCormick was a most exemplary woman, a fond wife and loving mother. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Newkirk, Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock; the remains were interred in Salem cemetery, in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends.
