She was born March 11, 1939, in Canton, a daughter of James and Gladys Johnson Slater. She married Dale Lascelles on June 12, 1962, in Havana. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2022.
Surviving are four children, Jeanette (and Ernest Chabot) Coyle of Decatur, Tenn., Cindy (and Mike) Chaffin, James (and Kelly) Lascelles and Charles (and Anne) Lascelles, all of Ipava; one sister, Bonnie Wallick of Yates City; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
After graduating high school, she attended Graham Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse. She was an RN at Mason District Hospital. She would later work for the Mason County Health Department as a Home Health Care Aid.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
