Ronald E. Lafary, 90, of Table Grove died at 8:37 a.m. Aug. 9, 2025, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1935, in Fulton County, a son of Henry S. and T. June Baldwin Lafary. Both Henry and June preceded Ronald in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Connie Hillyer and Sharon McCamant, both of Table Grove; one brother, Larry (and Marilyn) Lafary of Marquette Heights; five nephews, Gene (and Sherrill) Hillyer and Jeff (and Carol) Hillyer, all of Table Grove, Mark (and Lee) Hillyer of Hannibal, Mo, Larry (and Bonnie) Lafary Jr. of Valley Head, W.V., and William (and Tina) McCamant of Macomb; two nieces, Kathy Pettet of Peoria and Teresa Deane McCamant of Table Grove; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and caretaker, Vicky Vaughn.
He served in the United States Army as a MP for two years. He was stationed at Ft. Sheridan by Chicago.
He farmed alongside his father until his father’s passing. He then went on to work at Farm King in Macomb for several years. He spent his remaining years at his home on the farm with his caretaker, Vicky, by his side.
Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in the Harris Cemetery in Table Grove.
