Charles LovekampCharles Lorenz Lovekamp, 80, of Quincy, formerly of Rushville, died at 11:55 p.m. Nov. 8, 2024, at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy.

He was born Aug. 2, 1944, in Beardstown, a son of Edwin Chris and Mabel Louise Ham Lovekamp. He married Patricia Hamm on April 27, 1969, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 2024.

He also was preceded in death by six siblings, Theresa Curry, June Houston, Gladys Thomas, Cora Mae Scheer, Antone Lovekamp and Myra Sundberg.

Surviving are one son, Billy (and Candice) Lovekamp of Quincy; one daughter, Catrina (and Terry) Warner of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Marvel Gardner of Pickerton, Ohio, and Mary Ann Lovekamp of Beardstown; and four grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was retired from the Illinois National Guard and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, after over 30 years of service.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville with Pastor Andrew Dierks officiating. Burial will follow in Arenzville Cemetery North with Military Honors by U.S. Army Honors Detail. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of services.
