Ghlee H. Lasswell, 59, of rural Sciota, died at 1:32 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 1985, in McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
Born Aug. 13, 1926, in Fulton County to Ghlee T. and Corda Helle Lasswell, he married Betty Coakley Feb. 5, 1965, in Canton.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Rod Stoneking of Macomb, Michael Lasswell of Loda, Jeff Lasswell of Norris; two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Bonnie) Klanzman and Mrs. Robert (Connie) Lung, both of Good Hope; five grandchildren; one brother, Darrell of Washburn; and three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Eleanor) Connor of Peoria, Mrs. William (Audrey) McDonald of Macomb and Mrs. Jesse (Berna Lea) Hafer of Shenandoah, W. Va.
He attended Vermont, Ill. schools and was a World War II Army veteran.
He farmed in Vermont until 1965, when he began farming in Sciota. He was a member of Raritan Baptist Church and Carrol Rankin American Legion Post 26, Vermont.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at his church with Rev. Alan Brown and Rev. Paul Holder officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.
