Dorsie Lind Passed Away Thursday at Hospital

Dorsie Lind, 68, passed away Thursday afternoon in the Graham hospital, Canton, about three hours after he was admitted. Death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Lind was born April 5, 1886 at Bader, a son of Michael and Cora Pearson Lind. His early life was spent in and around Bader, where he learned the carpenter trade under the skillful hand of his father, which trade he made his life’s work.

On April 27, 1910, he was united in marriage to Miss Flora Sullivan of Astoria. To this union two sons were born, Francis and Donald. Francis passed away at an early age of eight years. His wife departed this life on Oct. 26, 1939.

In the year 1942 Mr. Lind was united in marriage to Ida Kost, who survives, together with a son Donald of Astoria; two grandchildren, Nancy and Edwin; a step-daughter, Mrs. Laura Danner of Galesburg, and a stepson, Troy A. Kost of Astoria; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Miller of Quincy; a brother, Otis Lind of Astoria, and a half-brother, Clarence Stauffer of Virden.

Mr. Lind was a kind and loving husband and father, always working for the betterment of his home and community. He was a member of the Masonic Order of Astoria, and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Funeral services were held in the Astoria Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, conducted by Rev. E. E. Catlin of Ipava, assisted by Rev. Wayne Armstrong. Burial was in the Astoria cemetery. The Masonic rites were exemplified.

BADER — The community was made sad to learn of the death of Dorsie Lind of Astoria, brother-in-law of Mrs. Opal Lind, on Thursday. His death was rather sudden, due to a heart attack after just a few days illness. His funeral was held in Astoria at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Christian church. Interment was made in the Astoria cemetery. Officiating ministers were Bro. E. E. Catlin of Ipava and Bro. Wayne Armstrong of Astoria. Mr. Lind had been a member of the Mason lodge and a very impressive ceremony was given in his honor after the funeral service.
