Jackie D. Hunkeapillar, 61, of Ipava died at 1:27 a.m. Jan. 4, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born June 27, 1964, a son of Bobby and Sueanne Smith Hunkeapillar Sr. He married Susan Thompson on Nov. 26, 2011, of Ipava. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Jack (and Allison) Hunkeapillar and Willy (and Brian) Flaharty, both of Lewistown; two stepsons, Jesse Coulter of Canton and Jordan Coulter of Table Grove; mother, Sueanne Hunkeapillar of Lewistown; two sisters, Tammy Chambers of Lewistown and Donna (and Rick) Walters of Astoria; one brother, Bobby (and Lisa) Hunkeapillar of Montrose, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby; and one sister, Dawn Hunkeapillar.
He had previously worked for Illinois Crane and Whitmore’s Garage.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
