He was born Dec. 9, 1958, a son of Lloyd and Bertha Witherall Hughes in Havana. He married Angel Tamulis Hughes on Jan. 25, 1990. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Maxine (and David) Richards of Macomb and Keshia (and Chris) Williams of Vermont; five siblings, Ronald (and Karen) Hughes of Mt. Carmel, Faye Hughes of Bath, Trina (and Charles) Pratt of Kilbourne, and Janice (and Paul) Stevens and Lloyd (and Melody) Hughes, both of Havana; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Hughes; his grandson, Jacob Moulton; his parents; and two brothers, Russle Hughes and Robert Hughes.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Kilbourne Fire Department House from 1-4 p.m. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
