Mrs. Elna L. Hendricks, 69, of 5326 N. Humboldt, Peoria Heights, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1985, at Methodist Medical Center, where she had been a patient since March 15.
She was born Oct. 14, 1915, in Table Grove, the daughter of Walter L. and Mary L. (Friend) Chenoweth. She married Wilbur “Babe” Hendricks June 1, 1935, in East Peoria. He died Oct. 1, 1973.
Survivors include one son, Larry M. Hendricks of Edelstein; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kay) Coyle of Dubuque, Iowa, J. Lynn Kennedy and Mrs. Damon (Janet) Deal, both of Peoria; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma V. Edmonds of Los Angeles.
She was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter and one brother.
She worked at Sears Roebuck and Co. 11 years then at the information desk at Methodist Medical Center nine years, retiring in October 1983.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at LeRoy Schmidt Memorial Chapel, East Peoria, with Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery.
