Earl Hankins Dies In Florida

Earl Hankins, 67, of Pompano Beach, Fla., died at 11:43 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1975, at North Broward Hospital there.

He was born Jan. 7, 1908, near Marion, a son of Joe and Grace Austin Hankins. He married Maxine Mummert of Astoria. She survives.

Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hankins was a member of the Pompano Beach United Presbyterian Church, the Kiwanis Club, Elks Club and Vermillion Hills Country Club, all of Danville. A graduate of Milliken University at Decatur, he was named to that University’s Hall of Fame. He was employed by the American Red Cross most of his life.

Private funeral services were to be conducted at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria today. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
