Gerald Eugene Hammond, 61, of Adair died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, June 27, 1975 in McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born in Table Grove Dec. 12, 1913, a son of R. H. and Lovera Lee Waters Hammond. He married Eloise Bullard Feb. 20, 1941, in Carthage. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Harding of Canton and Michael of Adair; six daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Elaine) Riebling of Peoria, Mrs. David (Jane) Appenbrink of Overland Park, Kan., Mrs. Jay (Nancy) Keithley of Sciota, and Linda, Mary Ann, and Susan, all at home; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. William (Lois) Clanin of Macomb.
Mr. Hammond was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and insurance salesman, and general manager of the Ipava Farmer’s Elevator.
He was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Adair.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon at Sargent Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial was in the Harris Cemetery at Table Grove.
