Prentice G. Hampton, 56, a retired Astoria farmer, died about 3 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at his home in Astoria after a brief illness.
Born June 23, 1914, at Lewistown, to Earl and Alta (Bloyd) Hampton, he married Elma Akison in 1930.
Surviving with his mother and wife are three sons, Robert Hampton of Vermont, Ronald Hampton of Ray, Richard Hampton of Roseville; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Bohannon, Sullivan, Ind.; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home Astoria, with the Rev. Dale Eddington officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown.
