William Lloyd Henry, 71, of Delavan died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at his home.
He was born in Astoria, March 4, 1894, the son of William and Mary E. Justus Henry. He was married to Evelyn Slone at Hillsboro, Mo., June 3, 1922.
Surviving are his widow; and two sisters, Mrs. J. Ross (Bertha) Arnold of Delavan and Mrs. Lulu Crowl of Morton. One brother and one sister died earlier.
Mr. Henry began his printing career in Astoria. He was a linotype operator for the Peoria Journal Star for 38 years, retiring in 1959. He had also worked for the Canton newspaper. He was a member of the Canton Christian Church, and the Typographical Union of Peoria. A World War I veteran, he served under Pershing in France.
Services were held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hallmann Funeral Home of Delavan. Rev. Merle Squier officiated, and burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
Mr. Henry was a cousin of Don Roosa and Mrs. Helen Farr of Astoria.
