He was born May 30, 1951, in Danville, a son of Paul and Cynthia Greene. He married Cheryl S. Decker. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Meghan (and John) Penland of Atlanta, Ga., Sarah (and Jeffrey) Crane of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Emily (and Richard) Herbert of London, England; one brother, Bob (and Maureen) Greene of Astoria; and five grandchildren.
Dave, a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and member of Lambda Chi Alpha began his career working with his family’s business, Greene Welding and Hardware (later Greene Galvanized Stairs). After relocating to Florida, he completed his Master’s degree at the University of South Florida and held a long career in Engineering at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island in Tampa.
He served his local church, and faithfully led Bible Study Fellowship for many years.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Oakwood Community Church, 11209 Casey Road, Tampa, FL. A private family graveside service will be held at Amity Cemetery in Goodwine, Ill., at a later date. Anderson Funeral Home in Florida is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made in Dave’s memory to Bible Study Fellowship or Oakwood Community Church.
