MARGARET MAXINE (HELLER) GROFF

Mrs. Maxine Groff Of Lewistown Dies

Mrs. Howard (Maxine) Groff, 70, of Rural Route 1, Lewistown, died at 5:24 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 1984, at Proctor Community Hospital, Peoria.

She was born Aug. 5, 1914, in Table Grove, the daughter of Newton and Ernestine Heller. She married Howard Groff Oct. 5, 1932, in Ipava. He survives.

Other survivors include one son, Richard of Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Everist of Canton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, George Heller of Table Grove, Paul Heller of Moline and Newton Heller of Macomb; and two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Anderson of Vermont and Mrs. Ellen Deener of Basco.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

A retired Caterpillar Tractor Co. employee, Mrs. Groff was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, rural Cuba and Caterpillar Retirees Club.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Joe Richard officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.
